Day-to-Day Responsibilities- A champion for safety and quality – lead the team to world-class safety and quality performance
- Provide supervision to a team of Production Associates/technicians responsible for the manufacture of optical fiber
- Understand and follow established guidelines, procedures, and policies; ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and document control protocols
- Maintain high housekeeping and 6S standards
- Coach strong shift performance and ensure effective shift-to-shift handoffs
- Provide real-time feedback to teams and individuals
- Coordinate daily activities with team and support organizations (e.g., SMET/Eng TS, DT, Experiments)
- Manage shift workflow and monitor long-term shift performance, developing improvement strategies
- Lead PEx and Team Meetings; coordinate team events and manage recognition budget
- Serve as iKaizen resource, assist team members in kaizen generation and implementation
- Remove roadblocks and communicate needed support to leadership
- Hold reports accountable for adherence to procedures and process control points; communicate changes
- Collaborate with the shift supervisor on accountability and performance discussions
- Develop and execute team training plans, including new hire onboarding
- Ensure completion of certification/recertification and coach/develop team leadership
- Prepare and provide reports to supervisory chain; protect Corning's Intellectual Property
- Must be Draw certified (PA or SMET)
- 2+ years of manufacturing experience
- 1+ years leadership within a team (e.g., Floor Leader, MT2, or SMETL)
- Proficiency with MS Office programs (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and PI Vision/Process Book
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong teamwork and leadership skills; positive attitude and employee relations
- Strong decision making and prioritization
- Ability to prioritize in an irregular environment with changing priorities and multiple tasks
- Strong peer-to-peer accountability and consistent policy application
- Strong conflict resolution skills
- Ability to function independently with minimal supervision and strong attention to detail
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts including nights and weekends; overtime as needed
- Maintain certification as Fiber Making PA on shift
- No attendance issues or active discipline
- Degree in a technical field or relevant manufacturing supervisory experience
- Project management

The compensation range for this position is $29.25 to $32.50 hourly. Starting pay depends on factors such as location, market demand, experience, training, and education. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company match, pension, life insurance, disability benefits, and PTO.
