American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Tele position with PCU capability, requiring BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications and at least 18 months of recent relevant experience.

• Work in a hospital setting on a Med/Surg Tele unit transitioning to a PCU focus
• 14 private room unit with patient ratios of 1:4-6, may surge to 1:7-8 for Med/Surg Tele and 1:4 for PCU
• Patient population includes heart failure, chest pain, fluid resuscitation, COPD, post-cardiac cath, and medical overflow
• Specialized procedures include cardiac rhythm interpretation, non-titratable cardiac drips, and management of chest tubes, Pleurx drains, and TR bands
• Uses Epic EMR (Epic experience required), Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell for medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
• Travelers are required to float within the designated region and within scope of practice
• Night shift ), with a schedule cycle of every 6 weeks
• Every other weekend is required and 75% of holidays must be worked
• No call or on-call responsibilities
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, medication administration, cardiac monitoring, and management of medical devices
• Support provided by CNAs, IV/VAT team, charge nurse, resource nurse, and 24/7 hospitalist and respiratory therapy services
• Orientation includes NEO and two days of departmental training
• Professional, team-oriented unit culture with required navy scrubs
• Free parking available on site
• Up to 6 days of RTO can be approved, excluding holidays, with additional days added to end of contract if total contracted hours are not met

• Active NC or compact RN license required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Minimum of 18 months recent Med/Tele RN experience required
• Experience in hospital Med/Surg Tele or PCU setting required
• EPIC charting experience required
• Competency in PIV starts, NG tube management, drain and chest tube management, and cardiac rhythm interpretation
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the home unit
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position
