American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring a NC or compact RN license and at least 18 months of recent Med/Tele experience.

• Work in a hospital Med/Surg Telemetry unit with an average daily census of 51 patients
• Patient population includes chronic diseases, CHF, mental health, addiction services, COPD, diabetes, wounds, and geriatric care
• RN to patient ratios are typically 1:4-6, with possible surges up to 1:7-8 depending on acuity
• Weekend position with all weekend shifts required
• Shift options are  or , with 36-hour schedules available
• No on-call responsibilities
• Floating required within multiple regional facilities as needed, with paid time for mid-shift floating
• Uses EPIC EMR, with various medical equipment including cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG
• Department is supported by a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Manager, supervisors, CNAs, and Rapid Response RNs
• Travelers are expected to work 75% of holidays during their assignment
• Up to 6 days of approved time off allowed, exclusive of holidays, with added time to end of contract if hours are not met
• First time travelers will be considered for this role
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the assigned unit
• Scrub color required is navy blue

• Orientation includes NEO and two days of departmental training

• Active NC or compact RN license
• Minimum 18 months of recent Med/Surg Tele RN experience
• Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Proficient in cardiac rhythm interpretation and non-titrating cardiac drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone)
• Able to perform IV starts, wound care, dressing changes, and blood product administration
• Experience with patients requiring tubes/drains and working with geriatric populations
