Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring a NC or compact RN license and strong ED experience.
Responsibilities- Work in a hospital Emergency Department within a Level III Trauma Center
- 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, 36 hours per week
- Required to work every other weekend and 75% of holidays
- Patient population includes trauma, stroke, cardiac, respiratory, mental health, GI disorders, and critical care cases
- RN patient ratio is up to 1:5, acuity dependent
- May be required to float to other facilities within Region 1 as needed
- Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors
- No on-call requirements
- Responsibilities include emergency and critical care for diverse patient cases
- Support team includes CNAs, receptionist/HUC, charge nurse 24/7, IV/VAT team, respiratory therapists, hospitalists, and ED physicians
- Training includes new employee orientation and two days of departmental orientation
- Scrub color is navy
- Free parking is provided
- Up to 6 days of requested time off can be approved, excluding holidays, with make-up required if contracted hours are not met
- Active NC or compact RN license
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience
- Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and CPI certifications required
- TNCC certification preferred
- Experience with trauma care, stroke management, cardiac rhythm interpretation, conscious sedation, PIV starts, chest tube management, NGT placement, drain/tube management, critical care drips, and blood administration
- Epic charting experience required
- Permanent residence must be at least 50 miles from the home unit
- Candidates with prior travel experience preferred, but first-time travelers may be considered
