Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to support packaging operations within a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. This individual will play a critical role in keeping production lines running efficiently by troubleshooting issues in real‑time, supporting maintenance activities, and collaborating cross‑functionally with engineering and operations teams. This is a hands‑on, floor‑facing role focused on uptime, reliability, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide day‑to‑day automation support for packaging lines to ensure maximum uptime and efficiency.
- Troubleshoot and resolve automation, controls, and equipment issues in real‑time.
- Work closely with Maintenance Technicians and Automation Technicians to diagnose and correct equipment failures.
- Support maintenance activities and improve equipment reliability.
- Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to optimize production performance.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurring issues.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP requirements and site safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across packaging operations.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Hands‑on automation experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of cGMP requirements and safe work practices.
- Experience supporting high‑speed packaging lines.
- Proficiency with B‑R (Bernecker & Rainer) Automation Systems.
- Experience with Studio 5000.
- PLC troubleshooting and controls support experience.
- Strong automation diagnostics and root cause analysis skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
