School Age Child Care Before and After School Teacher

Base pay range
: $17.00/hr - $18.00/hr

School Age B/A School Teacher at before/after school programs located in Beacon Falls and Prospect. Responsible for the care, supervision, and safety of all children in program as part of a team. Helps keep the program running smoothly along with the head teacher, and keeps head teacher/director aware of any concerns/issues. Learns, implements, and ensures compliance with State of CT Licensing standards.

• Planning and implementing appropriate activities.
• Attendance, making sure all children are accounted for.
• Day‑to‑day care of all the children.
• Meeting all the children's needs.
• Keeping the program running smoothly.
• Setting up and cleaning up all areas used; preparing and serving snack.
• Notifying head teacher of any concerns or issues.
• Program leadership in the absence of head teacher.
• Assisting head teacher as needed and reporting to director and/or head teacher.
• Handling day‑to‑day responsibilities as outlined.

• Clear understanding of OEC licensing requirements or willingness to meet set standards.
• Experience in childcare, before/after school setting preferred.
• Must have or be willing to obtain current first aid, CPR, and medication administration training.
• Background check required by State of CT.
• Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
• Strong leadership skills.

• Positive, creative, and healthy attitude.
• Personal qualities necessary to care for and work with children, work as part of a team, and communicate with parents and other professionals.
• Ability to work before and after school shifts approx. 6:30‑8:30 AM and 2:45‑5/6 PM.
• Occasional 8:30‑10:30 AM and/or 12:45‑5/6 PM on delayed openings or early dismissal days.
