New Canaan Public Schools is seeking an outstanding High School French Teacher to join the World Languages Department at New Canaan High School
, a nationally recognized, high-performing public school located in beautiful Fairfield County, Connecticut—just 60 minutes from New York City.

This position teaches the highest-level French courses in our program
, and we are searching for a dynamic educator with native or near-native proficiency in French who is passionate about working with motivated high school learners.

  • Teach exceptionally talented learners with strong proficiency, excellent work habits, and a genuine passion for French

• Course Load

  • 1 section of AP French Language and Culture

  • 1 section of UCONN Early College Experience (ECE) French

  • 3 sections of French 4 / French 4 Honors

• Collaborative Team

  • Join a supportive WL department of 12 educators

  • Work closely with two additional French teachers for planning, alignment, and shared resources

• CT World Language (French) Teaching Certification or the ability to obtain it
  Certification from another U.S. state is also preferred and may expedite cross-endorsement.

• Native or near-native French proficiency
• Experience teaching upper-level high school French (AP, honors, or dual-enrollment) or demonstrated readiness to do so
• Strong skills in collaboration, adaptability, and designing engaging, communicative lessons
