THIS IS A FULLY QUALIFIED LINE MECHANIC POSITION

The salary range for this position starts at $54.68 and progresses according to the union contract. Check our career site for benefits overview.

The individual will perform work involved in the construction, operation, and maintenance of the electric system. This is a Fully Qualified Line Mechanic position and requires at least ONE
year of experience
.

A line mechanic is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of overhead and underground electrical power lines and auxiliary equipment. This includes working aloft on electric utility poles or on ground and pad-mounted structures.

Must have the ability to climb poles skillfully with lineman’s climbers and to direct the work of others when assigned. REQUIRED.

Rubber gloving of high voltage distribution systems up to 23KV is a REQUIREMENT.

The individual must be available during trouble call assignments to report within approximately half an hour.

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• Preferred: valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) and a clean driving record
• Must be physically capable of performing essential duties
• Effective communication and ability to direct others
• Available for overtime and emergency work; live within half an hour of the reporting location

Candidates must pass the written assessment and overhead physical agility test. Bargaining unit employees under the TEAL contract are given first consideration. Qualified candidates must submit a resume with their application.
