Facilities Engineer at Howmet Aerospace
Responsibilities- Responsible for plant equipment and building maintenance as well as project planning and implementation, plant equipment layouts, and troubleshooting equipment problems for assigned plants within one or more facilities.
- Analyzes engineering proposals, process requirements, and related technical data pertaining to industrial machinery and equipment design.
- Determines feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, company planning, and other technical and economic factors.
- Provides technical information concerning manufacturing or processing techniques, materials, properties, and process advantages and limitations which affect long‑range plant and product engineering planning.
- Directs the operation of the physical facility functions including equipment installations and service functions for facility (includes safety and outside contractors).
- Plans, formulates and administers various engineering programs.
- Designs and facilitates capital projects within the facility.
- May supervise departmental and/or maintenance employees; develops, trains and motivates, makes job assignments, and follows contract and/or company policies.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems.
- Tests newly installed machines and equipment to ensure fulfillment of contract specifications.
- Oversees maintenance of facility and equipment.
- Performs equipment and project design.
- Plans and supervises project work.
- Provides manufacturing support to business centers.
- Performs cost estimating.
- Troubleshoots equipment.
- Initiates purchase for equipment and maintenance supplies.
- Reports on maintenance and engineering activities to management.
- Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field.
- 5 years of relevant maintenance or process engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in a machining, aerospace or industrial gas turbines operation.
