ECG Technician - Full Time First Shift

Job DescriptionAssists CV lab staff with stress testing: places electrodes, maintains records, assists in moving or transporting patient, takes blood pressure, and assists with cleaning up and equipment maintenance. Attaches holder monitor, explains procedure to patient. Selects appropriate electrode sites and attaches electrodes and lead wires securely. Cleans and maintains equipment. Accurately completes patient records and documentation. Prepares and calibrates per proper procedures.
Completes required hours of continuing education. Meets attendance and punctuality requirements. Attends CV Lab staff meetings and seminars. Completes annual recertification in Basic Life Support, Fire Safety, Back Care, Infection Control. Reports to work as scheduled. No more than three unscheduled absences in six months. Complies with meal and break policies. Communicates effectively with patients, employees, and physicians. Performs duties independently or as requested by supervisor.
Uses resources efficiently. Keeps work areas neat and clean. Stores equipment correctly. Performs EKGs and associated clerical functions: verifies test is ordered and explains procedure, records diagnostic-quality EKG, distributes after interpretation, cleans equipment, identifies requesting and interpreting physicians, pulls previous EKGs, places in physician e-box, ensures EKGs are ordered and resulted in hospital computer systems.

Experience1-3 years of healthcare/medical experience with direct patient care preferred.
Certification & LicensuresNew hires must have American Heart Association (AHA) appropriate certification prior to orientation. BLS Certification (Basic Life Support) – American Heart Healthcare Provider (HCP) – AHA approved required.
