SUMMARY

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CNC Machine Operator with a minimum of 3 years of experience in machine setup. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience operating lathes, mills, and multi-axis machines. Horizontal Mill experience is a plus. This role involves setting up and operating CNC machines to produce high-quality precision parts while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Duties may include but are not limited to:

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, mills, and multi-axis machines according to technical specifications and blueprints.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications to determine machining processes and sequences.
  • Conduct machine tool setup, including selecting and installing appropriate tooling, fixtures and programs.
  • Monitor and adjust machine settings to ensure optimal performance and quality output.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on machines to minimize downtime.
  • Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all safety protocols.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production staff to improve machining processes and efficiency.
  • Document production data and report any discrepancies or issues to management.
Critical Competencies
  • Understanding machines practices and monitor operations: watching gauges or other indicators to make sure the machine is working properly.
  • Operation and control: controlling operation of equipment or systems.
  • Quality control analysis:
    Learning and using computer-based quality control and production systems to evaluate performance or quality of the product.
  • Critical thinking: using logic and reasoning to identify alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
Education and Experience Requirements
  • High School education or equivalent, preferred.
  • 3 year of CNC machining and set up experience
  • Successful completion of a CNC Machine Operator Training Program would be a plus.
  • Must be able to perform machine shop mathematics and machining procedures.

Salary Range

$24.00 - 34.00/hour
