Asset Protection Specialist

Overview

Asset Protection Specialist role at The Home Depot. The Asset Protection Specialist is primarily responsible for preventing financial loss caused by theft and fraud and supporting safety and environmental program compliance in their assigned store/multiple stores.

The role involves utilizing tools to minimize loss to the Company, including identifying incidents of theft and fraud, reviewing CCTV and exception reports, monitoring the store's physical security, auditing the Electronic Article Surveillance, and driving a shrink elimination culture in the store.

Key duties include preparing accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries, preserving evidence, interacting with law enforcement, and testifying in criminal and civil court actions. The Asset Protection Specialist must report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out responsibilities in a way that minimizes risk of injury to themselves, colleagues, vendors, customers, and the Company.

Integrity, responsiveness to asset protection and operational concerns, and alignment with store objectives are essential.

• Prevent financial loss caused by theft and fraud and support safety and environmental program compliance in assigned store(s).
• Utilize tools to minimize loss, identify incidents of theft and fraud, review CCTV and exception reports, monitor physical security, and audit Electronic Article Surveillance.
• Drive a shrink elimination culture in the store.
• Prepare accurate and detailed case reports documenting apprehensions and recoveries; preserve evidence.
• Interact with law enforcement and testify in criminal and civil court actions as needed.
• Report hazardous or unsafe conditions to the Manager on Duty and carry out responsibilities to minimize risk of injury to associates, vendors, customers, and the Company.
• Demonstrate integrity at all times and respond to asset protection and operational concerns of all associates while focusing on store-specific business objectives.
