SUMMARYThe Warehouse Coordinator supervises and coordinates all outgoing shipments by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Studies shipping notices, bills of lading, orders, and other records to determine shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping schedules.
- Oversees outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and condition of shipments.
- Determines space requirements and position of shipment in containers and trucks and lays out position of shipment.
- Determines routing and legal load limits of trucks, according to established schedules and weight limits of states.
- Inspects loading operations to ensure compliance with shipping specifications.
- Schedules trucks for pickup and delivery.
- Enters shipment transactions into computer.
- Issues written and oral instructions.
- Studies and standardizes procedures to improve efficiency of subordinates.
- Adjusts errors and complaints.
- Assist with supervisory responsibilities including training employees, planning, assigning and directing work and addressing work related complaints and resolving problems.
- Communicates with production and customer service to insure timeliness and accuracy of shipments.
- All responsibilities of warehouse associates as needed.
- Availability for daily/weekly overtime.
- Cross‑train in other positions within the facility based on business needs.
- Complete special projects and other duties as assigned. This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary.
- Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent. - Minimum Years of
Experience:
5 years of warehouse experience. 2 years of leadership/supervisor experience. - Good communication skills for dealing with customers and brokers.
- Forklift certified.
- Organizational skills.
- Ability to speak English effectively to management and employees of organization.
- Experience with ERP software.
- Experience and knowledge using MS Office.
- Experience with TMS (Transportation Management Software).
- Must have above average reading comprehension, writing and oral communication skills.
- Telephone etiquette is essential.
- Ability to work with numerous large numbers and multiple units of measure.
