Child Care Director – 5-Star Licensed Center

Job Overview:

The Little Red School is a premier, 5-Star Licensed Child Care Center dedicated to providing a stimulating, creative, and safe learning environment. We are seeking a qualified, high-caliber Early Childhood leader to join our team as Assistant Child Care Director, with the express intention and roadmap to transition into the Full Center Director position following a few-month probationary and evaluation period.

This role is ideal for an experienced early childhood administrator or high-level educator looking to step into a long-term leadership role while learning our 5-Star operational standards from the inside out.

Key Responsibilities:

• Leadership Transition: Work alongside existing leadership during a structured onboarding period to learn center operations, culture, and compliance systems before fully stepping into the Center Director role.
• Operational Leadership: Assist in managing daily school operations, staff scheduling, enrollment, and facility standards.
• Compliance & Licensing: Maintain strict adherence to state child care licensing regulations, health and safety standards, and 5-Star rating requirements.
• Staff Management & Development: Mentor, train, and support teaching staff to foster a positive, collaborative classroom culture.
• Family Engagement: Help build strong relationships with parents, handle family communications, and represent the center professionally.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Education: Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE), Child Development, or a related field (or meet state director-level educational equivalency).
• Certifications: Active State Director Credentials / Qualification as required by state licensing guidelines.
• Background Clearance: Must possess (or be eligible to pass immediately) required Criminal Background Checks, Fingerprinting, and Child Maltreatment Central Registry clearances.
• Experience: Prior leadership experience as an Assistant Director, Director, or Lead Educator in a licensed child care center.
• Skills: Strong understanding of state licensing regulations, team leadership, clear communication, and high organizational skills.
