SUMMARY OF PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONSThe Patient Information Liaison is responsible for assisting in the release of information requests in accordance with federal and state regulations, organizational policies, and HIPAA privacy standards. This role serves as the primary point of contact for patient portal support for both the acute and ambulatory settings. Work is performed in accordance with established policies and procedures and does not involve independent discretion regarding the release or denial of protected health information.
REQUIREDQUALIFICATIONS
- Health Information Technology certification or high school diploma or equivalent and extensive knowledge and demonstrated Health Information Management (HIM) experience.
- Three years of healthcare experience utilizing an electronic medical record system. Given training and on-the-job experience, the incumbent should be proficient in the basic aspects of the job within three months of employment date.
- Associate degree in Health Information Technology.
- Experience related to release of information concepts.
