Wire Drawing Operator - 1st Shift

HSM is a third generation, privately held company founded in 1944, with 25 locations across the U.S., specializing in manufacturing components for furniture, bedding, transportation, packaging, automotive, and healthcare industries.

We are currently looking for a Wire Drawing Operator to work 12‑hour shifts at our Conover, NC facility located at 1101 Farrington St. SW, Conover, NC 28613. The role operates wire drawing machines to produce high‑quality products, performs inspections, and maintains safety practices.

What you will do:

• Check with the lead person at the beginning of the shift to determine the production schedule.
• Set up and maintain wire drawing machines according to the production schedule and quality standards, making minor adjustments as necessary.
• Load rod coils onto the drawing machine and payoffs.
• Operate and run machine to produce finished product.
• Perform quality inspections throughout the shift.
• Generate inventory‑related paperwork at the end of each run.
• Maintain good safety practices.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

What you will bring:

• Must be able to work and communicate well in a team environment.
• Must be able to work 12‑hour shifts.
• Must be able to work in cold/hot temperature conditions.
• Must be able to lift heavy items up to 50 lbs. with assistance.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Forklift experience preferred.
