Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead all aspects of manufacturing operations at a well-established production facility in Conover, North Carolina
. This individual will be responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating work activities and resources to ensure production goals are achieved safely, efficiently, and in line with quality and cost expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate all plant operations including production, processing, distribution, and related activities.

  • Develop and manage budgets, ensuring efficient use of materials, labor, and equipment to meet production targets.

  • Review schedules and production orders to determine staffing, material, and workflow requirements.

  • Collaborate with technical and administrative staff to resolve production or processing issues.

  • Hire, train, and evaluate plant personnel, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

  • Lead cost control and inventory management initiatives to maximize operational efficiency.

  • Maintain accurate and timely production reports and KPIs.

  • Set and monitor quality standards, ensuring finished goods meet or exceed product specifications.

  • Develop and implement production tracking, maintenance, and quality control systems.

  • Oversee facility and equipment maintenance, recommending improvements or modifications as needed.

  • Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and quality control methods.

  • Perform additional duties as required to ensure operational success.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management, Business Administration, Agriculture, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 7 years of plant management experience in a manufacturing environment.

  • Experience with
    wood processing or related industries highly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage across all levels of the organization.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Role involves both office and manufacturing floor environments.

  • May be exposed to heat, cold, dust, or moderate-to-loud noise levels.

  • Must be able to lift and move up to 25 pounds occasionally.

  • Standard office equipment use required (computer, phone, printer/scanner, etc.).

  • May require extended hours and occasional travel as needed.
