Position Summary
Responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and wiring for manufacturing equipment, and for providing preventive maintenance associated with electrical issues.
Job Requirements- High school diploma, GED or equivalent
- Associate degree or technical apprenticeship preferred
- Advanced education in fields related to the job (electrical, electronic, pneumatic, hydraulic systems and controls)
- Journeyman or Master Electrician license preferred
- Familiarity with PLC programming
- Knowledge of NEC requirements
- Observe installed systems to detect hazards and determine the need for adjustments or modifications.
- Work on electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic systems, robots, conveyors, augers, gearboxes, boilers and dryers.
- Use required personal protective equipment to protect against arc flash and shock.
- Determine electrical hazards, isolate, ground and prepare circuits and apparatus for repair.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out (LOTO) procedures safely.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and manuals to install, calibrate, and maintain electrical apparatus.
- Use mechanical and electrical hand tools and power tools.
- Use ladders and mobile equipment such as forklifts, manlifts, scissor lifts and cranes.
- Perform rigging with chains, shackles, lifting eyes, slings, and other rigging equipment to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
- Use calipers, micrometers, torque wrenches and other specialized tools to troubleshoot, diagnose, and determine root causes of failures.
- Use electrical/electronic testing equipment such as multimeters, ammeters, megohm meters, high‑potential testers, oscilloscopes, and digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
- Troubleshoot and maintain motor control centers, motor start circuits, control loops, generators, high‑voltage switch gear, protective relaying, transformers, transfer switches and related equipment.
- Install and maintain control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, circuit breakers, and control panels.
- Modify PLC control logic as necessary; install and calibrate pressure, temperature, flow, and level controls.
- Install and maintain drive systems such as variable‑frequency drives, eddy current drives, DC drives, and PLCs.
- Run conduit, pull wires/cables, and terminate wiring.
- Run computer cables, connect computer jacks and plugs, and test for adequate operation.
- Remain in compliance with the current National Electrical Code.
- Communicate problems and solutions effectively to resolve electrical issues.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining scheduled maintenance programs for plant equipment.
- Maintain records, update drawings, and develop safety procedures.
- Obey safe work practices so that work does not endanger others.
- Complete work orders and record materials used on the job.
- Use a computerized maintenance system to retrieve and enter information.
- Assist with preventive maintenance as assigned.
- Perform other duties as required.

- Five years’ experience in similar maintenance roles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear, concise reporting.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate when appropriate.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a fast‑paced, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong time‑management skills.
- Proficient use of MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and PLC programming tools.
- English reading, writing, and speaking proficiency; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
- Regular talking or listening required.
- Regular standing, walking, and use of hands and arms, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, or crawling.
- Ability to lift or move up to 50 pounds.
- Occasional overtime may be required.
- Works in a manufacturing setting.
- Must adapt to moderate‑to‑heavy noise levels.
- Uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers/scanners, and filing cabinets.
- Temperature varies from hot to cold depending on weather conditions.
