This is an opportunity to join the San Jacinto River Authority (SJRA), a public entity dedicated to developing, conserving, and protecting water resources in the San Jacinto River basin. The Administrative Assistant 2 supports the Division’s Administrative Services Department and assists the division management team.
Base Pay Range$21.00/hr - $24.00/hr – actual pay based on skills and experience.

Position SummaryAdministrative Assistant 2 coordinates, prepares, and maintains documents, records, financial procedures, and meeting logistics; works independently and supports special projects; participates in emergency preparedness as required; works Monday‑Friday 7:00 am – 4:00 pm in‑office.
Responsibilities- Compose, type, and edit routine and technical level documents.
- Proofread documents for spelling, grammar, punctuation, layout, and compliance with SJRA standards.
- Maintain electronic and physical records and filing systems.
- Create and maintain technical spreadsheets, presentations, and databases.
- Coordinate and gather data to generate reports and distribute them.
- Generate and submit requisitions for purchase orders; track costs in the department budget.
- Participate in routine meetings, prepare agendas, record and distribute minutes.
- Schedule and organize meetings, travel, conference attendance, training, and other department activities.
- Assist in planning and coordinating department events, including arranging meeting room calendars and ordering food.
- Act as liaison with other departments; handle non‑routine information and explain policies.
- Collect, sort, distribute, and prepare outgoing mail or courier deliveries.
- Work independently and within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor or higher management, including after‑hours tasks.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Associate’s degree preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
- At least 4 years of administrative assistance experience, including database and spreadsheet management, and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Preferred experience with Adobe and electronic document storage such as SharePoint.
- Texas Driver’s License with insurable driving record required.
