Job Summary

Panelmatic is seeking a detail-oriented electrical engineer who will design and implement Utility grade, industrial, commercial, and domestic electrical power systems.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the engineering and project management efforts on assigned projects; coordinate individual engineering disciplines to achieve the most cost‑effective total project solution.
  • Ensure engineering work is completed on schedule, meets quality standards, performs within the baseline man‑hour and material budgets, delivers required deliverables, and executes change management in a timely manner.
  • Review schedule status and progress performance with clients regularly, and keep general managers apprised of issues.
  • Ensure the quality of engineering execution and deliverables.
  • Participate in people development through mentoring, development of training material, and conducting or training seminars.
  • Develop and build client relations.
  • Develop electrical documents for scope of work definition, specification, data sheets, equipment selection, drawing review, schematic development, wiring diagrams, physical layout drawings, and project close‑out procedures for low to medium‑voltage industrial power distribution systems.
  • Prepare purchase requisitions for various electrical equipment.
  • Lead inspection and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for relay panels, Power Distribution Centers, and remote instrumentation enclosure buildings.
  • Exhibit thorough understanding of pertinent codes and governing regulations, and industry practices.
  • Review estimates to confirm the technical offerings of the product.
Minimum Qualifications
  • BS or higher in Electrical Engineering required.
  • Ten or more years of experience in electrical design and engineering required.
  • Five or more years of experience managing project managers and junior engineers required.
  • Five or more years of product knowledge of key electrical components of a Protection & Control Panel (SEL, Electroswitch, test switches, etc.) required.
  • Analytical abilities and problem‑solving skills required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Growth mindset with the ability to accept challenges required.
  • US work authorization without sponsorship required.
  • Ability to pass physical, drug, driving, and background check required.
  • Ability to physically push, pull, and lift 50 lbs or more required.
  • Ability to sit, stand, and walk for four or more hours at a time required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Five or more years in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, and Substation Design Suite (SDS) is preferred.
