We are seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for our team to ensure that we continue to provide all patients with high quality, efficient care.

The Medical Laboratory Technician/ Medical Technologist/ Histology Student is responsible for prompt and accurate performance of routine, complex and specialized clinical laboratory procedures as assigned by the Laboratory Supervisor. The Medical Laboratory Technician Student demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide age-appropriate care to patients including neonates, infants, children, adolescents, adults, and geriatric patients.

• Performs assigned diagnostic test procedures accurately in accordance with the written policies and procedures.
• Adheres to quality control protocols. Performs and documents proscribed maintenance procedures as instructed.
• Recognizes errors and reports them to a technologist.
• Reports work accurately, legibly and in accordance with the criteria for abnormal and critical values.
• Works efficiently and responds to stats and other priority tests to provide optimum patient care.
• Interacts professionally with Laboratory personnel and with other Hospital departments.
• Assists with evaluation of equipment and procedures.
• May be assigned to other tasks and/or required to vary schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory and the patients.
• Will comply with universal precautions and adhere to safety standards and practices.
• Will use the Laboratory Computer System and will be assigned to the security level appropriate to the job.
