Job Overview

Our Conroe Facility produces downhole products for drilling activities in North America. Our plant operates 24/7 to meet high demand and provides a clean, air‑conditioned 300,000 sq. ft. fabrication environment with advanced CNC machines. This role assists in maintaining high‑quality machining operations and supporting the maintenance team.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records on all grinding and lathe machining processes.
  • Perform work safely and adhere to applicable OSHA regulations and HVOF cell rules.
  • Maintain machine logs and cleaning schedule.
  • Track cell production scheduling.
  • Perform preventive maintenance functions as needed.
  • Assist maintenance personnel with technical troubleshooting and basic machine maintenance.
  • Use micrometers and measuring instruments for precision work.
  • Operate Bauer Lathe Polisher system.
  • Read process control documentation and solve problems.
  • Use computers and Windows for documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with team members.
  • Apply troubleshooting skills and adapt to new technology.
Direct Supervision Duties
  • Inspect or measure finished work pieces to determine conformance to specifications.
  • Measure work pieces and lay out work using precision measuring devices.
  • Observe machine operations to detect problems and adjust machines accordingly.
  • Move machine controls to index work pieces and adjust machines for selected settings.
  • Study blueprints, work orders or machining instructions to determine specifications.
  • Select machine tooling based on production requirements.
  • Mount and position tools in machine chucks, spindles, or other holding devices.
  • Operate grinding and related tools to remove excess material or burrs.
  • Set and adjust machine controls according to product specifications.
  • Brush or spray lubricating compounds on work pieces, or direct coolant flow.
  • Lift and position work pieces manually or with hoists and secure them in hoppers or on machine tables.
  • Repair or replace machine parts with hand tools or notify engineering personnel.
  • Compute machine indexings and settings for specified dimensions.
  • Maintain stocks of machine parts and machining tools.
  • Thread and hand‑feed materials through cutters or abraders.
  • Adjust air cylinders and setting stops for traverse lengths and feed arm strokes.
Education and Experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Lathe and grinding equipment background preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience using a machining lather or cylindrical O/D grinder.
