Volunteer Coordinator

We are searching for a volunteer coordinator who will coordinate and supervise the corps of volunteers at the Hospital, including interviewing, placing volunteers in appropriate service assignments in the hospital and off‑site locations.
Location:
Conroe, TX
- H.S. Diploma or GED Experience required.
- 2 years’ experience related to volunteer services required.
- An associate or bachelor’s Degree may be substituted for the experience requirement on a year‑for‑year basis.
- Event Coordination experience preferred.
- Places volunteers in appropriate positions according to established procedures set forth by Hospital and departmental policies and procedures and Joint Commission requirements.
- Interviews volunteers.
- Responsible for ensuring that criminal background checks are completed for all volunteers.
- Follows up when necessary and maintains information in secure file according to Joint Commission guidelines.
- Orients volunteers and schedules training for volunteers.
- Ensures the satisfaction of volunteers and hospital staff.
- Interacts with hospital staff to ensure that they receive volunteers that match the departments’ needs.
- Maintains open communication with volunteer preceptors to ensure successful placements and respond to staff comments/concerns/suggestions as they arise.
- Interacts with volunteers throughout their assignment to ensure their satisfaction and placement in areas/positions that match their interests and skill sets.
- Supervises and advises volunteers so that they may better understand what is expected of them and may better perform their jobs.
- Ensures volunteer needs are met throughout the volunteer experience.
- Acts as a liaison between staff and volunteers as needed to resolve any issues that may arise.
- Counsels volunteers as needed and documents each incident and files accordingly.
- Performs essential administrative functions and other duties as assigned.
