Job Summary and Qualifications

The Chest Pain Coordinator is responsible for the development, implementation, coordination, and maintenance of a comprehensive Chest Pain program that complies with national standards for quality of care for Chest Pain patients as dictated by the American Heart Association, American College of Cardiology, Society of Chest Pain Centers and governmental regulation for Medicare compliance. Manages all CV Data to include ACC, Action and STS data registries.

What you will do in this role:

  • Develops and supports education to meet all requirements of Chest Pain Accreditation.
  • Develops and recommends protocol/guidelines for best practice of the cardiac patient across the continuum of care.
  • Oversees, analyzes, and trends data related to throughput of cardiac patients i.e. AMI Core Measure, ACC, Action Registry and STS.
  • Provides data to the Administrative Director of the Heart and Vascular Institute and/or other applicable hospital leadership to initiate change as appropriate, in order to improve processes and outcomes.
  • Work with medical staff to assure continuity of care in cardiac patients and to ensure quality outcomes occur.
  • Works closely with Emergency Medical Services to assure optimal continuity of care from pre-hospital to hospital.
What qualifications you will need:
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing; B.S.N. preferred.
  • Minimum (3) years’ clinical experience in managing chest pain patients.
  • Current Texas or compact state licensure with State Board of Nurse Examiners.
  • Current BCLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association required.
