Compensation: $18.00 - $26.00 / hour
DescriptionThe Field Technician Level 1 supports experienced field crews in the safe setup, maintenance, and operation of tapping and line-stopping equipment while learning Rangeline’s systems and standards. This role is ideal for individuals who bring a strong work ethic, mechanical aptitude, and a willingness to learn in a physically demanding environment. Experience in underground utilities or construction is strongly preferred.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the installation, repair, and maintenance of water main systems
- Support setup and teardown of tapping, line-stop, and valve insertion equipment
- Clean and maintain tools, trucks, and work areas
- Load and unload materials and equipment
- Follow instructions from senior technicians and job leads on site
- Participate in pre-job safety meetings and follow safety protocols
- Complete basic documentation such as safety checklists or field reports as directed
- Observe and learn proper procedures for tapping, stopping, and field repairs
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical skills
- Ability to follow oral and written directions
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
- Clear communication and respectful interaction with others
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Availability to travel and work overnight or on-call shifts as needed
- Commitment to safety, attendance, and professional development
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience in underground utility or construction strongly preferred
- Ability to obtain OSHA 10 and forklift certification within 90 days of hire
- Frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, and kneeling
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 lbs
- Must be able to climb ladders up to 30 feet
- Exposure to construction hazards, moving parts, and outdoor elements
- Work in confined spaces, trenches, and other field conditions
- Travel may be required on short notice
