General Laborer

Job Description

We are a 93-unit apartment complex seeking a dependable, hardworking General Laborer to assist our maintenance team with property improvements, repairs, and general maintenance. The intended position is full time for 2-3 months.

This is a hands-on position working alongside our maintenance staff. The work will vary from day to day and is well suited for someone with general construction, maintenance, remodeling, landscaping, or similar hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

Work may include:

• General labor and maintenance support
• Exterior building and property repairs
• Assisting with patio, fence, railing, garage, and carpentry repairs
• Interior and exterior painting, preparation, and touch-ups
• Pressure washing buildings, sidewalks, patios, and other areas
• Landscaping, tree trimming, brush removal, and property cleanup
• Light plumbing repairs and fixture replacement
• Light electrical work, such as replacing fixtures, bulbs, and exterior lighting
• Drywall repair, patching, caulking, and other minor repairs
• Assisting with apartment make-readies and renovations
• Moving materials, demolition, hauling, and jobsite cleanup
• Using basic hand and power tools
• Assisting maintenance technicians with larger repairs and two-person jobs
• Other general property improvement and maintenance projects as assigned

Requirements

• Approximately 2+ years of general labor, construction, remodeling, apartment maintenance, landscaping, or similar hands-on experience preferred
• Comfortable using common hand and power tools
• Able to perform physical work outdoors and indoors throughout the workday
• Able to lift and carry approximately 50 lbs.
• Comfortable working from ladders and performing exterior work
• Dependable attendance and ability to arrive on time every day
• Able to follow instructions and work independently after being given a task
• Willingness to perform a wide variety of jobs rather than one specific trade
• Reliable transportation to the property
• Apartment maintenance experience is helpful but not required
