SEND Teaching & Care Assistant – PMLD School | Consett

We are recruiting a full‑time SEND Teaching & Care Assistant to work within a specialist PMLD provision in the Consett area.

This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with profound learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and physical disabilities to access education and achieve their individual goals.

• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group support.
• Assist with personal care and physical support requirements.
• Promote independence and wellbeing.
• Support communication, sensory, and educational activities.
• Work collaboratively with teaching and therapy staff.

• Experience supporting individuals with additional needs is desirable.
• Caring, patient, and resilient attitude.
• Ability to build positive relationships.
• Commitment to safeguarding and inclusion.
• Valid enhanced DBS check and subscription to the DBS Update Service.
• All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role.
