As a Lead Teacher you will provide effective leadership and management for a specific site of our College, delivering a safe and secure education provision for students aged 14–19 with complex needs and behaviours. You will manage the educational environment, supporting and motivating students while they undertake a high‑quality and aspirational curriculum.

Teaching and Learning
  • Teach GCSEs in Maths and/or English.
  • Build effective, supportive relationships with students and families/carers, embedding trust within the education process.
  • Manage, implement and monitor the timetable, ensuring teachers and support staff are deployed effectively and learners achieve success.
  • Oversee and coordinate the development of your subject(s) area.
  • Plan, produce and update schemes of work to meet curriculum, inspection and accreditation requirements, in line with DfE guidance and regulatory bodies.
Leadership and Management
  • Analyse performance data and report to the Centre Manager, taking appropriate actions to address under‑performance.
  • Lead improvements in teaching and learning by following and implementing the College’s observation procedures.
  • Manage and implement the contribution review process by setting targets for individuals and teams, and manage direct reports, addressing under‑performance promptly.
  • Support the training and development of staff to ensure outstanding teaching and learning delivery.
Qualifications
  • Recognised Level 5 or above teaching qualification, preferably with QTS (or willingness to obtain).
  • Designated Safeguard Lead.
  • Experience working with young people, including those with complex, high‑behaviour and additional learning needs.
  • Line‑management experience, including KPI setting and regular supervision.
  • Extensive knowledge of teaching, learning and behaviour‑management strategies, including personalising learning to enable all learners to achieve their potential.
Contract and Compensation

Full‑time permanent position.

Working hours:

37 hours per week. Salary: £32,620–£41,318.

Additional Requirements

The post holder must hold a valid driving licence and be able to drive as part of the role.
