Jackson Hogg is supporting a well‑established manufacturing site in Consett with the appointment of a Shift Supervisor.

This is a hands‑on leadership role, suited to someone who is comfortable on the shop floor, can organise a shift effectively, and deliver against production targets.

You’ll act as the link between the Machine Shop Manager and the shop floor, keeping production running, dealing with day‑to‑day issues, and ensuring output is delivered safely, on time, and to the required quality standards.

The site operates a 24/7 shift pattern, so this role suits someone who can manage priorities across shifts and drive consistency in performance.

• £24.63 per hour (Inclusive of Shift Allowance)
• 40.25 hours per week
• 4 on / 4 off (days and nights)
• Days: 06:00 - 18:00
• Nights: 18:00 - 06:00

• Lead, organise and support the production team during your shift
• Act as the first point of contact for operational issues
• Manage effective handovers using SQCDP
• Track production to ensure customer delivery deadlines are met
• Drive continuous improvement across products and processes
• Manage team performance, training and development
• Maintain clear communication across shifts and with management
• Monitor stock levels of raw materials and finished goods
• Use systems such as Paragon, Oracle, and Microsoft Office to track and report performance

• Experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing or machining environment
• Hands‑on approach with the ability to make decisions under pressure
• Strong organisational skills and ability to manage shift priorities
• Experience leading teams and handling real‑time production issues
• Clear communicator who can challenge and support a team effectively
• Understanding of structured improvement frameworks such as SQCDP

Strong shift leadership is in short supply across the North East market. This is a role where you’ll have real influence on performance, output, and team standards not just firefighting issues on shift.
