Role context- IMB members are unpaid public appointees, appointed by ministers to report on whether those being held in immigration detention facilities are being treated fairly and humanely.
- They are given unrestricted access to detained people, out of sight and hearing of members of staff if necessary.
Derwentside IRC is a fully contained residential centre housing for women.
