Job Overview
Coastal Carolina University is accepting applications for the part‑time temporary position of Test Center Administrator in the Academic Testing Center.
The role provides a broad spectrum of testing services to the University and local community in a convenient, secure, and professional environment. You must be certified by each testing company and keep current knowledge of testing requirements, observing all university, state/federal, and agency policies for security, confidentiality, and FERPA compliance.
Duties- Provide administrative support and serve as backup for the Academic Testing Center.
- Deliver superior customer service to test candidates and prospective candidates, including those who call or visit the Center, exhibiting excellent verbal and written skills.
- Administer exams strictly following guidelines and procedures set by the school or testing company.
- Review candidate documents to confirm completeness.
- Communicate required documentation, testing procedures, and policies to candidates and answer exam‑related questions.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum two (2) years of experience in a professional office setting.
- Knowledge of computer proficiency and general office equipment.
- Strong observational and listening skills, multitasking in a fast‑paced team environment.
- Excellent customer service, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Ability to meet yearly certification requirements and maintain Microsoft Office proficiency.
- Self‑motivated, independent, results‑oriented, and able to work with minimal supervision.
- Attention to detail and high level of organization, prioritization, and documentation.
- Comfortable conducting multiple tasks simultaneously, working long periods of time and moving equipment.
- Handle confidential materials and personal information securely.
- Manage multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions while maintaining focus.
- Communicate verbally and in writing with candidates and company representatives.
- Sanitize workstations and equipment as required.
- Stand or move for long periods, transport, and replace computer equipment as needed.
- Operate computer, peripheral, copier, scanner, telephone, printer, security systems, metal detector wand, and shredder.
