Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced, driven Fire Sprinkler Contract Sales Representative to spearhead contract sales across the booming Northwest Arkansas commercial market. In this role, you will focus on securing contract work for ground-up new construction, tenant improvements (TI), system modifications, and major retrofits across commercial, industrial, institutional, and multi-family facilities.

You will act as the primary relationship builder with General Contractors, Mechanical Contractors, developers, property managers, and facility owners. From performing plan takeoffs and scope development to delivering competitive proposals and closing contracts, you will manage the sales lifecycle while working closely with our design, estimating, and field operations teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development & Relationship Management: Identify, qualify, and capture new commercial fire sprinkler opportunities throughout Northwest Arkansas. Build long-term relationships with regional GCs, construction managers, architects, and building owners.
  • Estimating & Proposal Development: Perform accurate drawing takeoffs and site walk-throughs for retrofit projects. Develop detailed material, equipment, and labor scopes in compliance with NFPA standards and local building codes.
  • Contract Negotiation & Closing: Present detailed bid packages and value-engineering options for decision makers. Negotiate scope, terms, and pricing to close profitable contracts while protecting project margins.
  • Retrofit & TI Surveys: Conduct thorough on-site evaluations of existing facilities to assess hydraulic conditions, ceiling configurations, backflow requirements, and system alteration needs.
  • Cross-Functional Handoff: Facilitate clean project turnover meetings with the engineering/design department and project management/field installation teams to ensure seamless execution from award to rough-in.
  • Pipeline & Market Tracking: Monitor construction bid boards (Plan Hub, Construct Connect, Building Connected), local permit filings, and plan rooms across Washington and Benton counties to maintain an active pipeline.
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: 5+ years of contract sales, estimating, or project management experience in the fire sprinkler or fire protection industry
  • Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of water-based fire protection systems (wet, dry, pre-action, deluge, fire pumps) and core standards (
    NFPA 13, 13R, 14, 20, and 25
    ).
  • Plan & Spec Literacy: Demonstrated ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP blueprints, civil site utilities, and project specifications.
  • Communication & Negotiation: Strong verbal and written communication skills with proven success presenting bids to general contractor project managers and chief estimators.
  • Valid Driver’s License: Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) required for regional client visits and job-site surveys.
  • Software Proficiency: Comfortable utilizing standard estimating software, plan takeoff tools (e.g., Bluebeam Revu), CRM platforms, and Microsoft Office / Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior field installation, design, or layout background in fire sprinklers.
  • Existing network of commercial General Contractors and developers in Northwest Arkansas (Bentonville, Rogers, Springdale, Fayetteville).
  • NICET certification in Water-Based Systems Layout or Inspection & Testing (Level I or II) is a plus.
What We Offer
  • Uncapped Earning Potential: Base salary paired with an aggressive commission plan tied to gross contract volume and project margins.
  • Mobility Package: Choice of a company vehicle with fuel card or a monthly vehicle allowance package.
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Health, dental, and vision insurance coverage.
  • Retirement: 401(k) plan with company matching.
  • Tech Kit: Company laptop, iPad, and smartphone/stipend.
  • Paid Time Off: Paid holidays, vacation time, and personal leave.
