Terms Of EmploymentThe contract length will be 190 days.
Salary schedule will be A & J.
Based on local district policy and Arkansas Department of Education guidelines, and performed by the building-level principal who is assisted by the assistant principal in regard to evaluations.
Job GoalThe classroom teacher will endeavor to teach and educate students according to standards for the state of Arkansas as promulgated by the Arkansas Department of Education or other accrediting body. The teacher will also strive to teach and educate students according to the educational needs, abilities, and attainment potential of individual students entrusted to their care by the school district.
Performance Responsibilities- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Plans, prepares, and delivers lessons consistent with and aligned to District curricula.
- Possesses and deploys various instructional strategies to meet different learning styles and specific needs of students assigned to them.
- Stays abreast of changes in standards, curriculum documents, resources, and trends in education.
- Utilizes and integrates appropriately student use of technology in the classroom.
- Assesses, records, and reports the development, progress, attainment, and behavior of all students.
- Embraces an attitude of being a continual learner, facilitator of learning, and a reflective practitioner.
- Utilizes effective classroom management techniques to provide a safe learning environment for all students.
- Communicates regularly with parents and/or guardians about student progress, behavior, or needs.
- Actively participates in collaborative planning, intervention, conferences, meetings, and assistance teams both at the building and district levels, when appropriate.
- Uses a variety of assessment tools to assess and gauge student progress, identify student needs, and extend learning.
- Maintains proper and correct records and all timelines according to District, state and federal requirements in regard to student grades, attendance, and IEP progress, if applicable.
- Ensures fairness and impartiality in all matters relating to students.
- Provides supervision for students at all times when students are assigned or entrusted in one’s care.
- Engages in professional development to strengthen personal practice.
- Develops and maintains professional and collegial relationships.
- Other duties, as assigned.
