Overview
Preschool Instructional Paraprofessional role at Conway Public School District. Reports to the Preschool Supervisor. The contract length will be 185 days.
Qualifications- Associate degree in early childhood education/development or child development associate (CDA) credential or Associate degree in another area and the approval of a Staff Qualification Plan (SQP)
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with others in grade level, school, and District teams
- Experience working with preschool children preferred
The Preschool Instructional Paraprofessional will assist the preschool lead teacher in teaching and educating students according to standards for the state of Arkansas as promulgated by the Arkansas Department of Education or other accrediting body. The instructional paraprofessional will support the lead teacher in educating students and maintaining a state environment for students.
Performance Responsibilities- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures and licensing regulations.
- Carry out daily classroom schedule under the direction of the lead teacher.
- Assists the lead teacher with observations and entering documentation into the Work Sampling System.
- Support the lead teacher in effective classroom management techniques to provide a safe learning environment for all students.
- Collect and prepare materials used to implement curricula.
- Facilitates small group instruction under the direction of the lead teacher.
- Provides supervision for students at all times when students are assigned or entrusted to their care. Maintains student/teacher ratio.
- Ensures fairness and impartiality in all matters relating to students.
- Actively participates in collaborative planning both in the classroom and at the building level.
- Completes annually a minimum of thirty (30) hours of professional development in early childhood education.
- Develops and maintains professional and collegial relationships.
- Fills the role of the lead teacher in their absence.
