Job location:
Conway, AR. Reports to the Principal, Conway High School. This is a full-time position with a 190-day contract and the salary schedule is A&J.
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Education, Applied Behavior Analysis or related field with a teaching license or certification.
- Experience with students with behavioral concerns, data collection, and tracking.
- Experience in a K-12 school environment training and coaching educators using adult learning principles, preferred.
- Knowledge and experience completing Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA), function-based intervention planning and development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).
- Significant experience working with students with problem behaviors and autism, preferred.
- Knowledge of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and other special education laws, regulations and procedures.
- Knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and evidence based practices and interventions (e.g., Discrete Trial Training, Pivotal Response Training, Social Skills Training, Self-Regulation Teaching, Functional Communication Training, positive reinforcement, extinction, etc.).
The Student Success Liaison, under the direct supervision of the campus principal and administration, assists in the development and implementation of behavior intervention programs for students with challenging behavioral needs. The role monitors and collects data on behavior and documents progress, and collaborates with school staff to coach and implement behavior interventions. The Liaison also assists with identifying behavioral interventions in a multitiered system of supports, conducts Functional Behavior Assessments in accordance with district policies, and helps identify at-risk students through truancy monitoring and communication with school administration and court personnel as needed.
The Liaison will also help design and plan data collection on post-secondary outcomes for CHS students upon graduation requirements.
- Follows and maintains knowledge of all District policies and procedures.
- Develops and provides professional development on evidence-based behavioral practices in Conway School District.
- Assists with Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) and the development of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Assists with the implementation and monitoring of Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Provides modeling and training to teachers and paraprofessionals.
- Intervenes effectively with students with problem behaviors.
- Communicates effectively with team members.
- Assists with observations and data collection for assessments and tiered interventions.
- Collects and monitors ongoing behavior data and interpretation.
- Implements and promotes positive behavior intervention supports on campus.
- Understands state and federal regulations relative to behavioral requirements and students with disabilities.
- Maintains accurate records and files, and prepares documents and reports.
- Provides intervention for students demonstrating unsafe behaviors when required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
