Automation Specialist II - Conway, AR

Job Description

Under the supervision of the Systems Architect and working in conjunction with Corp. IT resources, this individual will be accountable for maintaining the SCADA and MES Systems for plant operations, integrations with ERP and 3rd party software, and developing/maintaining PLC and HMI programs.

• Develop, modify, maintain, and deploy new PLC and HMI applications.
• Develop, modify, maintain, and deploy new Motion applications including VFDs, Stepper and Servo motors and drives, Soft Starts, and electro‑mechanical relay starters.
• Convert Legacy HMI & PLC logic and hardware to current devices and standards.
• Work with Contractors and Maintenance I&E Tech or Electrician to perform I/O Checks, Startup, and Commissioning of new systems.
• Work with a team to integrate PLC systems with the SCADA layer.
• Work with Systems Architect to develop new systems and perform continuous improvement of existing systems.
• Develop, modify, maintain, and deploy new thin clients and other hardware, including I/O networks as required working in conjunction with Corp. IT resources.
• Maintain database tables, views, functions, and stored procedures.
• Maintain electrical drawings to ensure current and accurate documentation of the plant's electrical and controls systems.
• Rotate 24/7 On‑Call Support with a team.
• Provide troubleshooting help and guidance to the plant's maintenance department as required.
• Assist in the development of a technical training program for the maintenance department in the areas of process controls, electrical systems, and instrumentation.
