Design Engineer

Starting pay for market: $60,/year

• Provide mechanical design and development of new products or product enhancements for the automotive equipment and industrial tools industry. Must be able to perform in a team environment with engineers from other disciplines and nationalities.
• Prepare thorough andaccuratedocumentation for release to manufacturing and for internal product design records. Maintain an engineering notebook to document work activity in support ofcompany’spatentgoals.
• Test andvalidateproducts toassureproduct performance and quality.
• Work with manufacturing and service personnel to resolve problems and improve manufacturability and serviceabilityofproducts.
• Develop ormodifymanufacturingprocesses.
• Work with other groups on value engineering initiatives to reduce product cost and/or improve performanceofdesigns.
• Develop an understanding ofthe company’sproducts and their applications.
• Provide administrative support for Engineering Computer systems.
• Work with outside approval agencies oninitialproduct approvals and maintenance of existing files

• Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Mathematics, with apreferencefor 2years’ experience in a design engineering environment
• Must be proficient in the use of the computer for design and testing.
  
  Creoexperience is preferred.
• Up-to-date knowledge in mechanical design
• Basic understanding of complementary technical disciplines, particularly electronics
• Able to work with others and with minimal supervision.
• Mustpossessexcellent communication skills.
• Mustpossessgood time management and organizational skills.
• Mustpossessgood problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Must be able todemonstrateinitiative.
• Must have practical experience in manufacturing processes and equipment.
• Project management and customer interface experienceisaplus.
• Experience with outside approval agencies (UL/CSA/ALIetc.)
