The Teller I conducts transactions with speed, accuracy, and efficiency while meeting or exceeding service quality standards. The Teller I safeguards bank assets and promotes growth by cross-selling bank products and services.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives, pays out cash, handles negotiable items, loan payments, deposits, withdrawals, and transfers.

Sets up, closes, and balances teller station.

Records sales of monetary instruments.

Assists customers with inquiries in person or by telephone.

Maintains neat and well-stocked teller area.

Cross-sells bank products and services.

Follows limits established for protection of customer accounts and bank safety and soundness.

Adheres to bank policies and procedures.

Lift coin bags up to 50 lbs.

Assists with balancing Vault, ATM, Night Drop, and Coin Machine.

Assists with proper scanning of bank documents and proof work.

Exercises judgment when applying holds and making check cashing decisions.

Cross-trains to be available to open basic new consumer accounts.

Adheres to work schedule. Must be flexible in availability for work schedule.

Maintains positive, friendly, and professional attitude and appearance.

May be required to work at alternative locations within the region or market.

Works in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Completes required BSA/AML and other compliance training annually.

Performs any other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements

Education and Experience

High school diploma or GED, with emphasis on office or shop skills, plus 0 to 6 months related experience or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication Skills

Effective in person and small group communication with customers, clients, and staff.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to perform basic arithmetic using money and measurement.

Critical Thinking Skills

Use common sense to carry out simple instructions and deal with standardized situations.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

None required.

Software Skills

Basic skills in 10-Key, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing.

Responsibility for Work of Others

No supervisory responsibilities but may involve training and guidance.

Working Conditions

Periodic exposure to noise, standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs., and other physical activities.

Environmental Conditions

Moderate noise level; accommodations available for disabilities.

Physical Activities

Repetitive work requiring concentration, talking, hearing, standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
