RN Specialty – Circulating Nurse

Job Summary

Operating Room Shift: Day Working Hours:  (rotating Monday/Friday off). Call required.

Summary: A Registered Nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, and administering care within the scope of his/her training and expertise, collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes is met. This is done in conjunction with the objectives and policies of the hospital and the Nurse Practice Act of the state of Arkansas.

• Assist surgeons and other healthcare professionals during surgical procedures.
• Work outside the operating room’s sterile field by ensuring a clean and sterile environment.
• Administration of medications, implementing and maintaining surgical counts.
• Prepping for operations/procedures, documentation of surgery/procedure.
• Monitoring perioperative staff, instruments, equipment and delivery of surgical specimens.

• A new RN graduate from an accredited nursing program or Registered Nurse in good standing, licensed to practice in the state of Arkansas.
• BSN preferred.
• Applies basic knowledge and skills to meet standard of care.
• Is able to practice as a full partner of an interdisciplinary team.
• Healthcare CPR required; some areas may require ACLS, PALS and/or NALS – training is provided.
• Specialty units require and will provide specific specialty education.

Authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
