What You Will Do
  • Testing construction materials:
    Perform tests and oversee special inspections of materials such as soil, concrete, asphalt, and others to ensure they meet project specifications and industry standards.
  • Analyzing construction plans and specifications:
    Verify that they align with project goals before conducting field observations.
  • Recording and managing field activities:
    Document detailed observations and test results during project execution, using Metafield® or other management systems daily for efficient data handling and coordination.
  • Preparing reports and proposals:
    Help draft reports and proposals for smaller projects, ensuring thorough and accurate assessments and documentation.
  • Communicating daily:
    Interact with management, contractors, and clients to maintain project transparency and provide regular updates on progress.
Who We're Looking For

A strong sense of safety, integrity, and teamwork is essential, along with the curiosity to gain new certifications and grow professionally.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or a similar technical field
  • Experience:

    0–2 years of experience in construction materials testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt
  • Certifications:

    Willingness to obtain at least one industry certification within six months of employment
  • Key Competencies
    • Basic math and communication skills (speaking, reading, and writing) using the English language
Working Conditions and Physical Demands
  • Working outdoors in varying weather conditions
  • Walking over rough, uneven terrain and standing (potentially up to 12 hours a day)
  • Routinely lifting and carrying 40–50 lbs (field/laboratory samples and equipment)
  • Maneuvering field equipment safely, such as a loaded wheelbarrow, on uneven ground around active construction sites
  • Working outside of normal business hours and traveling (typically out‑of‑town and/or overnight) as project needs arise
