Coastal Carolina University’s Marketing and Communications team is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student Multimedia Producer to support institutional storytelling, visual creation, and strategic efforts in the field of photography and video. This position provides hands‑on experience in higher education marketing while working alongside professionals to share the stories, achievements, and impact of the Coastal Carolina University community.
The student Multimedia Producer will assist with creating visuals for a variety of communications channels, including news releases, website content, social media platforms, newsletters, and university publications. The ideal candidate is a photographer and communicator who can identify compelling imagery, manage multiple projects on strict deadlines, and effectively communicate with a variety of audiences.
Responsibilities may include:
- Capture high-quality photographs and video content that support University Marketing and Communications initiatives, campaigns, publications, social media, websites, and other institutional communications.
- Photograph and record a variety of university events, activities, programs, and campus experiences, with an emphasis on telling engaging visual stories.
- Create photo and video content highlighting student success, faculty and staff accomplishments, academic programs, research, community engagement, campus life, and other University priorities.
- Assist with planning and executing photo and video shoots, including developing shot lists, identifying locations, coordinating subjects, and preparing equipment.
- Conduct basic video production tasks, including camera operation, audio capture, lighting, and composition.
- Assist with editing and post-production of photographs and video, including color correction, cropping, image selection, basic video editing, and preparation of content for various platforms.
- Collaborate with photographers, videographers, designers, writers, and other members of the University Marketing and Communications team on creative projects, campaigns, and special assignments.
- Help maintain organized digital photo and video assets by properly naming, categorizing, storing, and uploading files according to established University standards.
- Assist with maintaining photography and video equipment, including preparing, organizing, transporting, and safely storing cameras, lenses, lighting, audio, and other production equipment.
- Support the visual needs of University Marketing and Communications by identifying opportunities to capture compelling photography and video content across campus.
- Assist with special projects and strategic initiatives that require photography, video, or other visual content.
- Maintain a professional and respectful approach when working with students, faculty, staff, campus partners, and community members.
- Perform administrative and support tasks related to photography and video production as needed.
- Perform other photography, videography, marketing, and communication-related duties as assigned.
