• Teach undergraduate Spanish language courses at all levels and intercultural studies courses in English, with a 3/3 teaching load.
• Lead and direct basic language programs, incorporating high‑impact practices and inclusive pedagogy.
• Oversee curricular and extracurricular activities and contribute to ACTFL Standards implementation.
• Prepare course content, syllabi, and Moodle/curricular site; communicate with students, evaluate assignments and calculate grades per Faculty Manual.
• Track and report absences and other administrative responsibilities.
• Conduct research and contribute to knowledge in second language acquisition or related fields; train students in research techniques and creative production.
• Maintain regular office hours, participate in faculty committees, events and other university activities.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Required:
• Ph.D. in Spanish with specialization in applied linguistics or second language acquisition – degree earned by start date.
• Native or near‑native proficiency in Spanish and English.
• Experience teaching language courses to students from diverse majors at a U.S. institution.
• Evidence of scholarly activity in SLA or related areas.
• Evidence of proficiency in teaching with technology.
• Preferred:
• Experience coordinating language programs or supervising instructors, lecturers, or graduate teaching assistants.
• Experience with course development in Languages for Specific Purposes.
• Evidence of exceptional teaching.
• Must hold the appropriate terminal degree or meet the established alternative qualifications and exhibit strong potential for excellence in teaching.
