Job Title:

Safety Specialist

The Safety Specialist reports to the Safety Manager / Safety Director.

Purpose & Basic Function:

Perform duties as assigned by the Safety Manager / Director. The Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the completion, maintenance, and compliance of safety duties and regulations, including but not limited to OSHA, MSHA, DOT, and DOL.

Job Duties:

Assist the Safety Manager/Director in designing safety protocols.

Investigate incidents and accidents thoroughly to ensure policies are followed.

Implement safety measures in work areas.

Inspect work premises for hazards.

Educate workers on safety aspects and coordinate safety training and education programs.

Assist in preparing safety manuals and guidelines.

Collaborate with departmental heads to implement safety processes.

Establish and manage a first aid center on-site.

Provide immediate first aid treatment to injured employees.

Implement patient safety protocols in a facility setting.

Adhere strictly to corporate safety guidelines and procedures.

Perform additional duties as assigned by the Safety Director.

Experience:

Extensive experience and knowledge in environmental and occupational health and safety may substitute for educational requirements. Develop and implement safety policies, procedures, and standards based on laws surrounding construction safety. Typically, 1-3 years of experience to familiarize with the responsibilities of the Safety Specialist role.

Physical Activity:

The role requires physical activities such as climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, lifting, and grasping. Ability to perceive sounds and communicate effectively, including speaking in front of groups during training sessions.
