Work Shift: Day – 8 hour shift (United States of America)
The Patient Services Representative/Rehabilitation Technician is the first point of contact for the patient. Essential responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phone calls, scheduling appointments, assisting with registration, communicating benefit information, scanning documentation, collecting payments, running reports, supporting patient care, performing therapeutic activities as directed by therapists, cleaning and preparing treatment areas, and floating to other locations when needed. The employee will complete other duties as assigned.
WhatYou Will Do
- Track outbound/inbound department documentation and communicate patient information
- Perform patient monitoring and equipment set‑up activities independently
- Complete end‑of‑month cleaning, daily temperature logs, and maintain clinic inventory
- Promote excellent customer satisfaction and respond attentively to patient and family needs
- High School Diploma with college or specialized training
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred
- Insurance payer regulations preferred
- Medical terminology knowledge preferred
- Experience interpreting policies and workflows
- Experience with electronic medical records in a healthcare environment
- Experience obtaining authorizations and scheduling appointments (rehabilitation preferred)
- Medical terminology knowledge required
- Customer service experience
- Time‑management and multi‑tasking skills preferred
- Ability to quickly develop rapport with physicians, coworkers, and ancillary personnel
- Independent judgment in interpreting guidelines and making decisions
- Basic Life Support Certified – American Heart Association (required within 30 days of hire; recertify every two years)
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Certified – American Heart Association
- Medium Physical Demand
