Job DescriptionThe Instrument Technician position is responsible for providing leadership, support, preventive maintenance, and service to electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, thermal/mechanical systems, and equipment used in amorphous metal production.
Essential Job Functions:- Ensure safety of self and others by working safely and following all safety procedures.
- Lead efforts to uphold total quality standards at the Conway plant through personal behavior and inclusive problem-solving.
- Perform assigned work as directed by supervisor.
- Repair and maintain electrical, electronic, and power systems, including digital and analog circuitry, inverter and power supply systems, lasers, AC and DC drive systems, relay logic, and power distribution systems.
- Maintain and repair mechanical systems such as hydraulic systems, cranes, balers, and casting-winding-packaging machines.
- Perform welding within scope of training and experience.
- Implement the established preventative maintenance program.
- Comply with pollution, toxic waste, and safety regulations and laws.
- Assist in writing SOPs and troubleshooting procedures, and train staff accordingly.
- Identify, suggest, and implement continual improvements in equipment reliability and technician training.
- Work as part of the plant’s scheduled “on-call” team.
- Assist in developing hands-on troubleshooting training for technicians.
- Contribute to writing procedures for critical process equipment and calibration of instruments.
- Collaborate with management to establish ISO 9002 standards within the department.
- Analyze equipment failures to increase reliability and participate in related training.
- Lead in assisting operations during process or run problems, including problem identification and solution implementation.
Experience:
- Training in industrial maintenance, electronics, electrical, mechanical, hydraulics, and welding.
- Leadership and teamwork skills.
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities.
Rotating 12-hour shifts, potentially including overtime and on-call duties based on production needs.
