Day Service Support Worker - Level 3

The Disability team at Conwy County Borough Council is recruiting a day service support worker to work at Canolfan Marl and other day opportunity projects. The role centres on helping service users build independent living and daily skills, supporting those who cannot fully manage personal care such as meal times, and working with colleagues to plan and record support. The post is distinct because English and Welsh are both essential, and applicants must show they meet this.

Appointment depends on two satisfactory references, a DBS check and verified qualifications.

• Help service users work towards independent achievements and build skills and goals, including daily living skills
• Assist service users who cannot fully attend to their own personal needs, including meal times and tea breaks
• Work with other staff to assess and prepare programmes that meet individual needs
• Record and pass on information to the relevant people

• Relevant experience of working with service users

• Awareness of issues affecting service users in a day setting, including rights, responsibilities, choice and confidentiality
• Ability to work on own initiative and take responsibility
• Ability to manage challenges in an appropriate manner
• Ability to communicate in Welsh (essential)
• English at an essential level

• Satisfactory DBS check
