Mechanical Project Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to lead large mechanical piping projects in Data Centers, Healthcare/Hospitals, Industrial, and Mission-Critical facilities. This role manages projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring they are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and to client expectations.

Responsibilities

+ Lead all phases of project execution, including preconstruction, planning, procurement, scheduling, construction, and closeout.

+ Manage project budgets, forecasting, cash flow, profitability, and cost controls.

+ Develop and maintain project schedules, resource plans, and manpower needs.

+ Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams.

+ Oversee RFIs, submittals, procurement activities, contracts, and change orders.

+ Identify and resolve design, scheduling, procurement, and construction issues.

+ Review and approve subcontractor and supplier invoices.

+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and company standards.

+ Build and maintain strong client relationships and support business development efforts.

+ Mentor Project Engineers, Assistant Project Managers, and junior staff.

Essential Skills

+ Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field preferred.

+ Minimum 5+ years managing mechanical construction projects valued at $5M-$15M+.

+ Direct experience with mechanical piping systems.

+ Experience managing project financials, forecasting, procurement, subcontractors, schedules, and client communications.

+ Experience in Data Center, Healthcare/Hospital, Industrial, or Mission-Critical construction environments.

+ Strong leadership, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency with Bluebeam, Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, Excel, and Microsoft Office.

+ Strong knowledge of project controls, budgeting, scheduling, risk assessment, and construction operations.

+ Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

+ Experience in industrial and pharmaceutical projects.

+ Familiarity with mechanical piping contracting and hydronic piping.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Conyers, GA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $65.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
