SUMMARY
Assembles, installs and repairs sheet metal products, parts and equipment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Assembles and installs units, exhaust fans, house doors, damper hoods and makes pan rings according to job order.
Ordering Material and Parts for Sheet Metal Area (pull boxes, inserts and specialty parts)
Knows and Understands Receiver Sizes & Configurations
Trouble shooting - Squaring Problems, Drawing Errors and Major Component Locations
Build and Install Raceways, Purchased Doors, Door Closer, Panic/Lock Sets, and Rack Pans
Structural MIG Welding (applies to Frame Assembly)
Understands and performs all High Wind Requirements
Understands and performs all Double Wide House Requirements
Standardize and Document Sheet Metal/Structural Components to ensure consistency.
Troubleshooting - squaring problems, drawing errors, major component locations.
Works with Structural Engineering to Develop consistent standards to Ensure all Structural Component are included in the Drawing prior to Production
Create Sheet Metal Supermarkets by Product Type
Create Structural Standards
Build mufflers for generators (custom units)
Understand types of metal and gauges.
Understand Receiver Sizes and Configurations
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh School Diploma or GED equivalent; twelve months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLSAbility to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLSAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
REASONING ABILITYAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIESThis job has no supervisory responsibilities.
