Public Safety Officer

Public Safety Officer – Piedmont Rockdale Hospital Inc.

Responsible for a variety of routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients and property. First responder to all emergency incidents within the assigned facility.

• Conduct routine safety and emergency security operations throughout the facility.
• Act as the first responder to all emergency incidents.

• Minimum Education Required
  • High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum Experience Required
  • Two years of experience in general security, military or other public safety (preferred)
• Legal Licensure/Certification Required
  • Valid Driver’s license & compliance with Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500
• Additional Qualifications
  • Certified Healthcare Security Officer (IAHSS) within one year of hire
  • Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification (preferred)
  • Carry non‑lethal weapons such as a Taser CEW and/or a baton (required)
  • Pass pre‑employment psychological screening
  • Maintain all training requirements, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and others as directed
