This position assists with ceramics room, demand response and daily fixed route transportation, group shopping, senior outings, Meals‑On‑Wheels delivery, Congregate Meals, and special senior center day and evening programs.

• Responsible for the ceramics program and maintains the ceramic work area and equipment.
• Covers daily fixed route transportation when needed; drives the 24‑passenger bus as required.
• Schedules and transports demand‑response transportation clients to doctor’s appointments.
• Assists Senior Services Manager and Transportation Coordinator with special events and Senior Center programs.
• Delivers Meals‑On‑Wheels when needed.
• Works as chaperone on scheduled group shopping trips and charters.
• Assists with meal preparation and service.
• Employees in this classification may be expected to perform any related duties as required by proper authority.

• Knowledge of the geography of Rockdale County, including roads and street addresses.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written communications.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with others including staff, vendors, clients, and volunteers.
• Ability to lift more than 60 pounds.
• Ability to transport seniors in large passenger vans.
• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, crouch, stoop, see, smell, taste, hear, and speak in order to perform a variety of job tasks.

Work is typically performed in a vehicle, the ceramics room, kitchen, and dining room settings.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• OR have a combination of education, training and work experience that is equivalent to #1 above that provides the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities for this job.
• Valid State of Georgia driver’s license; must possess a Class C Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) or obtain within six (6) months of hire date.
• CPR and First Aid Certifications.
• Preference:
  Six (6) months of experience driving a multi‑passenger vehicle.
